Between The Trees Festival 2025
21st - 24th August

Please see information below from one of the organisers of
the
Between The Trees Festival.

I'm Dawn Wood the Co-director of Between the Trees Festival that takes place at Candleston Woods Merthyr Mawr each year of the August bank Holiday.
This year it is taking place between the 21st-24th August.

We arrive on site on Monday the 18th August
and hand the site back In Tuesday 26th.

We have a traffic management plan that has worked well in the past
and was created with advice from
BCBC Traffic and Highways Dept.
We use a one-way system, have only pre purchased ticket holders
(no walk-ups) and
we send festival attendees a phased ingress schedule.

As a courtesy, we thought that it would be polite to let you know of the plans.

The peak ingress periods are Friday from 9:00-16:00 and
between 9:00-11:00 Sat and Sunday morning.
Egress tends to be quieter when people are leaving
from Sunday and Monday, Tuesday mornings.

Last year, we contacted local riding schools and liveries to see if the
would like some of the 50 straw bales we have each year for seating. They are covered with fabric socks, so are kept intact. If you could let us know, we will make sure that security will let you in through GATE B, which is just before the Merthyr Mawr nature public reserve car park.
These are FREE, first come first served.

If you would like these, we are donating to anyone who would like to collect on Monday 25th afternoon or Tuesday 26th Morning.

Reply From Bridgend CBC re: Repairs to Dipping Bridge

Many of the coping stones that had been dislodged from the parapet had been damaged beyond reuse, which had become evident upon the removal of the loose coping stones. Some of the coping stones had severe frost damage and had shattered under the impact of whatever large vehicle had struck them out of position on the bridge. There were a small number which had been picked up from the bridge and taken to our depot to be stored but it was clear there were significant damage to these as well which would have prevented their reuse. As part of the upcoming works to the bridge there will be repairs carried out to the areas missing coping stones.

We are still awaiting final ground investigation reports and designs to be completed of the replacement training wall which will tie back in to the bridge.
